Born in 1961, Juan Lobillo Corbacho is a self-taught artist who began painting pictures a number of years ago. His day job as a house painter and sign maker allowed him at first to paint with the acrylics that he used for walls.
Lobillo's travels in Spain and Morocco have often inspired his paintings, many of which are in a semi-naif style, with classical touches of surrealism. His paintings of scenes of his native Jimena are much sought after and hang in numerous homes in the village and beyond.
He continues to develop his work, which also includes bodegones (still art) and interiors that play with windows and light.
